Women’s Week begins tomorrow!

Here at Warwick there’s an absolutely fantastic line-up of events covering all things female and feminist, from discussions and debates to film screenings, performances, a mock trial and a self-defence class.

Guests include: Cath Elliott, Jo Cameron, Kate Smurthwaite, Mediocre Dave, Matt McCormack Evans (Anti-Porn Men Project), Coventry Rape And Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC) and Kairos, a charity which offers support to sex workers in Coventry.

Events are open to everyone, so if you’re in the area check out the full programme.

Tomorrow we’re kicking off the week in style: a comedy workshop and show with comedian Kate Smurthwaite; an open discussion on sexism; and a debate on The Glass Ceiling with Guardian columnist Cath Elliott and Jo Cameron, founder of the Network of Aspiring Women, who has appeared on the BBC’s The Apprentice (Series Two) and The Weakest Link.

I’ll be live-blogging this debate for The Student Journals from 2.30pm. If you’re interested but can’t be there in person, you can follow all the action right here:
